Gregory L. Hall, MD, is a nationally recognized authority on precision medicine for African Americans. A Cleveland native and Cleveland Clinic–trained internist, he holds the Edgar B. Jackson, Jr., MD Chair for Diversity & Clinical Excellence at University Hospitals and is an Associate Clinical Professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He serves as President of the Cuyahoga County Board of Health, previously chaired the Ohio Commission on Minority Health, and is a National Ambassador for the National Medical Association. Dr. Hall is the author of Precision Medicine for African Americans (Springer Nature, 2nd ed., 2025), Patient-Centered Clinical Care for African Americans (Springer, 2020), and Better Black Health: A Comprehensive Guide in the Age of Precision Medicine (2025). He is faculty for Pri-Med's award-winning Bridging the Gap CME series and hosts the Better Black Health podcast and television series. In 2025 he was inducted into The HistoryMakers ScienceMakers archive at the Library of Congress. He founded NIAAH to put precision medicine for African Americans into practice. That means training clinicians, mentoring the next generation of Black physicians through the NIAAH Scholars Program, and giving families health information they can trust.
